Recent Project Completion

Bethlehem Shopping Centre

We’ve recently completed the hot washing and fresh repaint of the two central blocks at Bethlehem Shopping Centre, just in time for the busy Christmas shopping season.

As one of Tauranga’s most well-known and well-loved retail destinations, the centre deserved a crisp, revitalised look heading into its peak period. Our team worked efficiently around traders and foot traffic, using hot washing to strip away built-up grime and environmental residue before applying a durable new paint finish. The result is a brighter, cleaner, and more inviting hub for shoppers as the holiday rush begins.

The project started on October 1, 2025, and was completed on November 20, 2025, meeting all milestones and finishing on schedule.

Project Services

Project Objectives

  • Maintain Public Safety: Implement strong pedestrian management, clear barriers, and site signage to protect shoppers and centre staff throughout the works.
  • Keep All Retailers Trading: Schedule activities around peak hours, deliveries, and access needs so business operations could continue seamlessly.
  • Deliver a High-Quality, Long-Lasting Finish: Ensure careful preparation, clean application, and a final result that enhances the centre’s presentation for years to come.
  • Elevate Appearance for the Christmas Season: Present a clean, inviting, and refreshed environment ahead of the busiest time of the year.
  • Operate Smoothly in a Live Environment: Maintain communication with centre management and stage works to minimise impact on daily operations.

Project Constraints

  • High Foot Traffic: The constant flow of shoppers required tightly controlled work zones and flexible scheduling.
  • Active Retail Operations: All works had to fit within trading hours and avoid disruption to stores, customers, and deliveries.
  • Environmental & Equipment Management: Careful handling of water, hot washing equipment, and potential overspray was essential.
  • Weather Dependence: Rain, wind, and humidity required adaptable planning to maintain quality and safety.
  • Restricted Access: Carparks, footpaths, and busy public areas limited equipment placement and required daily coordination.
  • Strict Safety Requirements: All works adhered to public-space safety standards, hazard control, and emergency access protocols.

Project Outcome

This project is a great example of our team’s ability to deliver high-quality results in a complex, live environment,  leaving Bethlehem Shopping Centre looking sharp and ready to welcome the Christmas crowds.
