Papamoa Library Lighting Project

This project was in collaboration with Tauranga City Council and Bay Venues.

Facilitate Electrical was appointed to deliver a full lighting upgrade at the Papamoa Library, replacing the outdated system with a modern, zone-controlled solution. The new energy-efficient lights were carefully retrofitted into the existing suspended timber ceiling panels, preserving the architectural integrity of the space while improving functionality and ambience.

Project Objectives & Constraints

To ensure the library remained fully operational during its normal business hours, all works were carefully scheduled and undertaken overnight. This after-hours approach minimised disruption to staff and the public, allowing daily services to continue uninterrupted while ensuring the project progressed efficiently behind the scenes.

Project Outcome

The project was a success, with positive feedback flowing in from Bay Venues staff, TCC Papamoa Library staff, and regular visitors to the space. The previous lighting system had become outdated and insufficient, particularly during the winter months when natural light is limited.

The new zone-controlled system has significantly improved visibility and comfort throughout the library, creating a brighter, more inviting environment for reading, studying, and community activities. The upgraded lighting not only enhances the overall experience for library users but also contributes to improved energy efficiency and functionality.
